Andrew McMurray's family were related to Granny Reid. Andrew sent this postcard (right) to Louisa (Weedie) Reid, (later, Mrs Malcolm McConkey) but date is unsure.. This is the 6th Batt. Cameron Highlanders, stationed at Rushmoor Camp, Aldershot..

Louisa (Weedie) went out with Malcolm McConkey. They were to start a new life in Canada. Malcolm went out first but Weedie never followed. Malcolm came home after thirty years but they didn't meet. Then six months after, they married. I can still remember Malcolm sitting in the corner of the room with his pipe. Weedie died in 1964. She was my granda's (James Reid) sister.

According to the 1911 census, Rachel Reid (Erdis) is a widow aged 72. This would make her date of birth around 1939/40. Making her about two years older than James. They had no children.
